Dodgeball in the Dark
LED is proud to be an active supporter of Hospiscare. As one of the businesses signed up to the Hospiscare40 Club, LED has contributed to the charity’s valuable work through a range of events including the London Marathon, Great West Run and Men’s walk to various centre-based activities. So far, the team at LED has raised over £5,000 for this worthy cause.
On Tuesday 20th February, LED hosted its first ever glow-in-the-dark dodgeball tournament. Hosted at Broadclyst Leisure Centre and organised by Hyped Events, this unique and action packed evening invited groups of five participants to attend dressed in neon clothing and face paint to take on 13 other teams in this frantic elimination event.
Illuminated only by UV lighting, the objective was to remove all players from the opposing team by hitting them with the neon balls, while dodging anything coming the other way. The last person standing wins!
After 2 hours and 30 exciting games the team from AtkinsRealis emerged a worthy winner of the inaugural Dodgeball tournament, although thanks to a heroic last stand by Andrew Dare the LED team came a close runner up.
The event was a massive success, with teams from the competition raising a huge combined total of £1,550. All donations will be going to help terminally ill patients and their families across Exeter, Mid Devon and East Devon.
