Exciting New Partnership: LED Leisure and Project Food
LED Leisure is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Project Food, an organisation that perfectly aligns with our mission to help people feel better and get more out of life. Nutrition plays a crucial role in this mission, and by collaborating with Project Food, we can enhance our in-house nutrition advice and better support our members by directing them to Project Food’s services.
Project Food provides tailored support to help people eat better, so they enjoy improved physical and mental health. They help people to learn how to cook and eat nutritious food and prioritise working with people who live in food poverty. More specifically, within this group, they particularly focus on:
- People with or at risk of diet related physical and mental ill health; and
- Young people (under 18s) (with their parents, where appropriate).
Our community team works with children across East Devon every week, and the support from Project Food will be invaluable. This partnership will focus on sharing best practices, collaborating with other organisations, and establishing a direct referral service between LED and Project Food. Additionally, Project Food will visit LED sites to engage with our members and provide monthly recipes.

Andrew Dare – Strategic Lead for Active Communities and Wellness “I am excited about working with Project Food to support the wellbeing of our East Devon community. It is so important that young people and adults understand what they are putting into their bodies, as it can significantly affect their physical and mental health. Numerous studies have shown how food can impact mood, and learning to cook is a vital life skill. People’s lives are so busy these days, and fast food or takeaway meals are an easy fix but can be more expensive in the long run for a family.”
Tiggy Parry – CEO for Project Food “I am really looking forward to working with LED to help to support the local community to live happier and healthier lives. We know that good food and exercise are two basic ingredients you need for long term health. By working together Project Food and LED can give people the opportunity to develop the confidence and motivation that they need to develop habits to be active and to eat well for the long term.”
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting collaboration!
