The Engine, Exeter
Located at Exeter Science Park, the 55-station gym is the perfect place for pre- and post-work workouts. It’s ideal for local residents in Cranbrook, Pinhoe, and surrounding areas, as well as commuters travelling along the M5 and A30 corridors.
Members can expect 4,000 sq ft of dedicated class and gym floor space with a range of market leading equipment, including:
Extensive cardio zone featuring a stepmill, cross trainers, treadmills, upright & recumbent bike
- High-intensity equipment including Concept2 RowErg, BikeErg, SkiErg, & AirBike. Ideal for performance-focused training
- Free weights, with up to 50kg dumbbells. Plus a selection of Olympic bars & bumper plates
- A mix of pin & plate loaded resistance machines
- Custom-built functional rig featuring dual Olympic racks & versatile, multi-adjustable cable systems
- Two custom functional rigs
- Versatile benches plus a preacher curl bench, Olympic flat & incline bench presses
- Adaptable accessories area including sled track, Olympic rings, punch bag, wall balls & more!
- A varied selection of classes, such as BodyPump, Yoga, Pilates & Les Mills On Demand
- Full gym journey, training programmes & health checks included. 1-2-1 and group Personal Training available

We have several options available:
- The Engine – Gym: £39 per month
- The Engine – Gym & Group Exercise: £41 per month
- The Engine Junior – 14–15 years: £27 per month
If you’d like access to other LED Community Leisure sites, choose our All-In membership at £44 per month.
Important:
- Current LED customers with a Core membership will not have access to The Engine.
- To use The Engine and other sites, you’ll need to upgrade to All-In.
All employees working within Exeter Science Park are entitled to our corporate discount.

No, this only applies to memberships.
Yes, designated free parking is available and will be clearly signposted.
- Entry: Drive through the barrier (it will lift automatically after 5–10 seconds).
- Main Parking: Continue straight past the gym entrance and the Met Office on your right. You’ll find spaces directly ahead.
- Overflow Parking: If the main area is full, turn left and follow the signs to the overflow car park, which has 60–70 additional spaces.
Yes, but you’ll need an All-In membership for full access to all LED sites. If you purchase The Engine membership only, it is a single-site membership for use at The Engine exclusively.
