Tennis Membership Fair Play Policy

Tennis Membership Fair Play Policy

1. Respect

1.1 Exmouth Tennis & Fitness Centre believes that its members, staff and volunteers should treat each other with respect and courtesy and should expect to be treated by others in the same manner. Please refrain from using coarse or passive-aggressive language, raised voices, making personal attacks on an individual or using any physical, verbal or electronic means of intimidation.

1.2 Members are expected to be courteous to each other at all times. For example, when playing, return any stray balls to a neighbouring court at the first opportunity, taking care not to interrupt the game on that court.

1.3 LED has the right to exclude someone for bad behaviour without offering a refund for the exclusion period.

2. Sportsmanship

2.1 Exmouth Tennis & Fitness Centre members, staff and volunteers believe in fair play both in recreational, competitive and social activities at the centre. This means abiding by the rules of tennis, centre policies, and court booking rules. Give your opponent the benefit of the doubt during play and competition.

3. Footwear

3.1 All players must wear non-marking tennis shoes. A non-marking hard court tennis shoe is recommended for play on both the Proflex® and acrylic courts.

4. Opening Hours

4.1 Our up to date opening hours are viewable online at Exmouth Tennis & Fitness Centre.

4.2 All courts are bookable on the hour Monday – Sunday.

5. Court Bookings

5.1 The first named person (member or non-member who books the court) is responsible for the booking hours of each person playing until each person has signed in at reception.

5.2 If payment is required from the first named person booking the court, they will be charged for the full court price at the time of booking.

5.3 All members playing on the court must report to reception and show their digital membership card, if payment is required this must be settled before going onto court.

5.4 Bookings can be made for 2 people to play singles, 4 people to play doubles and 6 people to play triples.

5.5 Bookings can be made in person at reception, over the phone, online or by downloading the LED App

  • LED Tennis members may book courts and classes up to 10 days in advance.
  • LED All-In & Core members may book courts and classes up to 8 days in advance with payment
  • Non-members may book courts and classes up to 7 days in advance with payment.

6. Tennis Playing Time

6.1 We aim to support our members enjoying our facilities and we ask members to be reasonable and considerate to other members with the amount of tennis courts booked.

6.2 Adult Tennis members can book up to a maximum of 20 hours per calendar month. If 4 members are on court this is an hour of time for each member. Any additional court hire hours will be chargeable. All members and non-members have up to 4 hours to cancel court bookings before losing the allowance.

6.3 Adult Tennis members can book up to 8 classes per calendar month. Any additional classes attended will be chargeable.

6.4 Junior Tennis members can book up to a maximum of 10 hours per calendar month. If 4 members are on court this is an hour of time for each member. Any additional court hire hours will be chargeable.

6.5 Your monthly usage against your court/class allowance will be monitored by the centre team throughout the month. If you are close to reaching your usage limit, we will contact you.

If you exceed your court/class allowance, an “infringement charge” will apply. This charge is calculated by multiplying the number of court hires/classes beyond the allowance by the current non-member cost for court hire or class fees, and then applying a 25% discount.

If you exceed your allowance, we will notify you of the infringement charge and provide details. Payment must be made within 7 calendar days to avoid membership suspension. Failure to pay within the 7-day period will result in your membership being suspended, and you will be subject to non-member charges and terms & conditions. Once your infringement charge is paid in full, your membership will be reinstated.

If you wish to contest the charge, please contact the leisure manager

6.6 LED Adult & Junior Tennis members can book unlimited outdoor tennis courts at all times.
